Analysis of Electromagnetic Performance of Modulated Coaxial Magnetic Gears Used in Semi-Direct Drive Wind Turbines

Wind turbine is a key device to realize the utilization of wind energy, and it has been highly valued by all countries. But mechanical gear transmission existing power disadvantages high vibration noise, failure rate, short service time. Magnetic field modulation electromagnetic new non-contact method. However, conventional magnetic low torque density defects with large fluctuations. In order overcome problems semi-direct drive generation machinery improve performance traditional transmission, this paper proposes scheme generator surface mount Halbach array modulated method, considers properties turbine. The finite element software used construct model surface-mounted gear, analyzed distribution lines two gears, calculated air gap flux inner outer gap, obtained main harmonics density; static steady-state operating rotors in model, compared density, gears. simulation results show that type method improves induction waveform reduces pulse fluctuation, 60% higher torque. Applying equipment not only overcomes shortcomings but also performance. Therefore, can be replace gearbox equipment.
